Reuse of construction materials in Sweden is examined to see if it benefits the environment. The study looked at actual building projects and the transportation sector to understand how materials are reused. The research found that current environmental management practices lack a holistic approach, focusing more on outflow than inflow. Methods for assessing environmental impact of material reuse were developed, showing that system boundaries play a crucial role in determining what can be studied. Overall, the study highlights the importance of considering different phases of material use and the need for a more comprehensive approach to environmental management in the construction and transportation sectors.
