New image enhancement methods outshine others in preserving brightness and contrast.
The article introduces two new methods, RSWHE and RSWHS, for enhancing image contrast. These methods decompose the image's histogram based on brightness, calculate probabilities for each part of the histogram, and adjust it accordingly. Then, they perform either histogram equalization or specification on the modified parts. The experiments show that RSWHE and RSWHS are better at enhancing contrast and preserving mean brightness compared to other methods.
