EPRI program revolutionizes nuclear power plants with digital technology upgrades
EPRI is working on upgrading old nuclear power plant systems with new digital technology to improve safety, reduce costs, and enhance performance. They are developing a plan to replace outdated analog equipment with modern digital systems in various parts of the plant. By 2000, they aim to demonstrate this plan on at least ten key systems in different types of nuclear plants. The goal is to make the plants safer, more efficient, and less vulnerable to obsolescence issues.
