A new type of concrete panel for bridge decks has been developed. It is stronger and more efficient than traditional panels, saving time and labor during installation. The panel covers the entire width of a bridge, eliminating the need for forming overhangs. It has a gap at the girder lines for shear connectors and uses shear keys and reinforced pockets for stability. Tests show that this new system performs better structurally than the old one. The materials used are common and easy to find, making the system cost-effective.
