Japan Leads Asian Economies in Productivity Growth, Others Lag Behind
The article analyzes productivity growth in Asian countries from 2000 to 2010. They used a method called Stochastic Frontier Analysis to break down productivity into technical efficiency change and technical change. The study found that in most Asian economies, technical change had a negative impact on productivity growth. Japan had the highest productivity growth, while countries like Armenia and Uzbekistan had the slowest growth due to low technical progress.
