The article discusses challenges in simulating negotiations involving multiple parties in environmental management. The researchers developed a model to analyze negotiating positions and strategies. They found that bilateral negotiations reach agreements easily, but multilateral negotiations do not. To improve the simulation and negotiation procedures, historical evidence of successful multilateral negotiations will be needed.
