Gasoline-alcohol blends to dominate transportation fuel sector, hydrogen not significant.
The future of transportation fuels will be more diverse and efficient, with a variety of fuels serving different purposes. Gasoline-alcohol blends will be the most common, but propane, natural gas, and straight alcohol fuels will also have their place. Hydrogen, however, will not be widely used. This shift will lead to changes in vehicle design, fuel costs, and availability over the next 15 to 20 years.
