Rural landscapes in Korea at risk due to insufficient conservation system.
The article discusses the need for a better system to protect and manage different types of landscapes in Korea, such as rural, natural, urban, and historical landscapes. The current system is found to be lacking and not effectively regulated by existing laws. Rural landscapes, in particular, have suffered due to a lack of recognition. Urban landscapes are managed by local government ordinances, but these are not very effective due to legal gaps. The study suggests that more recognition and support for landscape conservation laws are needed to improve the situation.
