Boost Soil Health and Wheat Yield with Vermicompost and Microbes!
The researchers studied how adding vermicompost and microbial inoculants to soil affects wheat growth and yield. They tested different combinations of vermicompost and biofertilizers on wheat fields for three years. They found that adding vermicompost alone increased soil organic carbon content, and adding biofertilizers further improved it. The highest carbon content was seen in plots treated with Azotobacter, PSB, and AM fungi along with vermicompost. The nitrogen content in the soil also increased with the addition of Azotobacter and Azospirillum. The highest grain yield of 3.11 q/ha was achieved in plots treated with vermicompost and co-inoculated with Azospirillum and Azotobacter.
