Fruit Waste Fuels Breakthrough Promises Cleaner, Cheaper Energy for All
This research studied making fuel from fruit waste to power a special type of battery called a DEFC. They treated the fruit waste with heat and chemicals to turn it into a fuel called bio-ethanol. After testing the fuel, they found that using regular ethanol was better than the fruit waste fuel. They also tested a mix of both fuels and found that regular ethanol worked best. The fruit waste fuel met fuel standards but might harm the battery because of certain stuff in it.
