Revolutionizing sugarcane growth: new fertilizer method boosts yields and cuts pollution
The study aimed to find the best way to use nitrogen fertilizer to increase sugarcane yield and protect the environment. They tested different amounts of nitrogen and ways of applying it to the soil. The results showed that using 276 kgN/ha of nitrogen led to the highest sugarcane yield. Applying nitrogen early helped the sugarcane grow better. More nitrogen in the soil increased potassium levels but could make the soil too acidic. Applying nitrogen all at once at the beginning was not as effective. The best way to apply nitrogen for sugarcane is to split it into two doses of 138-276 kgN/ha.
