Digital remote sensing data revolutionizes global environmental resource management.
Remote sensing data is being increasingly used for extracting information about land, environment, and natural resources. Recent research sponsored by NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center focuses on current and future uses of digital remote sensing data. One study is surveying the use of digital Landsat data in the Southeastern U.S., while another is evaluating future needs for such data by governments and the private sector up to 1985. The use of digital remote sensing data is growing worldwide, not just in developed countries.
