Adolescents' Clothing Ads Influence Purchases, Impacting Self-Expression and Consumption Choices.
The study looked at how teenagers feel about clothing ads and how much those ads affect their clothing purchases. They surveyed over 500 middle and high school students and found that teens have different attitudes towards clothing ads, with some positive, some negative, and some reliant on them. The more interested teens were in clothing, the more likely they were to buy clothes based on ads and see them as helpful. Media ads had the biggest influence on their purchases, followed by shop ads, discount ads, and brand ads.
