Boost profits and sustainability in cotton farming with multi-tier cropping
Intercropping vegetables with cotton can make cotton farming more profitable and sustainable. A study tested different combinations of vegetables with cotton and found that a system including cotton, radish, cluster bean, and beet root was the most profitable. Although the growth and quality of cotton were not affected by the intercropping, this system produced the highest yield and economic efficiency. This multi-tier cropping system showed the highest return on investment and was the most diverse, making it a self-sustaining farming method.
