Preserving low-land rice seedlings boosts yield and growth significantly.
The experiment aimed to find the best way to preserve low-land rice seedlings for delayed transplanting. Results showed that preserving seedlings after July 20th was not effective. Seedlings from direct-sowing or on a vinyl seed bed had the best growth after transplanting. Leaf-cutting or thinning seedlings did not prevent decay. For transplanting on July 20th, direct-sown seedlings had the highest yield, followed by those on a vinyl seed bed. However, for transplanting on July 30th, direct-sown seedlings had the best yield, while other preservation methods had lower yields.
