New model predicts water content in organic soils with high accuracy!
The article presents models that estimate how much water organic soils can hold based on their physical and chemical properties. The researchers used statistical-physical modeling to create two models that predict soil water content at different levels of water potential. They found that factors like ash content, surface area, density, pH, and iron content influence water retention in organic soils. The models showed a good match between predicted and measured water content, with the second model performing slightly better than the first.
