Soil erosion is a big problem for farming, causing pollution and loss of nutrients. Scientists used a model called CREAMS to predict soil loss in a warm, humid area. They studied an experimental plot in Louisiana and found that the CREAMS model did a good job of simulating sediment loss from the field.
