New herbicide research boosts gladiolus growth and flower quality.
The researchers tested different herbicides on gladiolus plants to see which ones worked best for controlling weeds. They tried eight herbicides and compared them to a control group with no weed treatment. The best results were seen with pendimethalin at two different concentrations, which led to better plant growth and flowering. Pendimethalin at 0.75 kg/ha was particularly effective at reducing weed density and weight. Atrazine and metribuzin also showed some effectiveness, but the unweeded control group had the most weeds and lowest plant growth.
