Concrete bridge decks prone to cracking due to construction and material factors.
The study looked at how often concrete bridge decks crack and if this is related to how the bridges were built and the materials used. They checked 72 new bridges in North Carolina to see how much cracking there was. They found that the way the bridges were built, the materials used, and the environment all affected how much cracking happened in the bridge decks.
