Occidental boosts oil recovery in Libya by conserving gas reserves.
Occidental Petroleum Corp. in Libya is conserving gas by injecting it into oil reservoirs, which helps increase oil recovery. They discovered new fields and built production facilities to transport oil to Zueitina for export. The gas processing plant recovers LP gas and condensate for sale. The facilities include separators, degassing boots, surge tanks, and a large oil storage terminal. This method has helped Occidental increase their oil production rate to over 700,000 barrels per day by 1970.
