New Sorption Media Could Revolutionize Removal of Toxic Waste at Hanford.
This report provides information on materials that can be used to remove a substance called 99Tc from waste at the Hanford site. The goal is to help with the selection of the best materials for this task. Some of the tested materials include SuperLig 639, Reillex HPQ, TAM (Kruion), Purolite A520E and A530E, and Dowex 1X8. The U.S. Department of Energy is working on managing and treating waste at the Hanford site in a safe and cost-effective way.
