Indoor Temperatures in Tropical Homes May Not Meet Comfort Standards
A study was done in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia to understand how people feel about the temperature in their homes. They found that most people wore light clothes indoors, even in hot weather. The usual guidelines for indoor temperature might not be accurate for this area. People were more sensitive to temperature changes than expected, with 30°C being the most comfortable. Humidity didn't seem to affect how people felt about the temperature. Most people were okay with indoor temperatures between 27°C and 32°C.
