The study adapted a technique called Quality Function Deployment to improve coal mining processes at Bursa Lignite Enterprise. By surveying customers, they identified the most important customer need as 'coal without stone'. This means the company should focus on reducing the amount of stone in the coal they produce to meet customer expectations for market coal.
