China is building many impressive bridges, with T.Y. Lin International playing a big role. They designed the world's longest box girder main span on the Shibanpo Bridge in Chongqing. The $190-million Caiyunba Bridge will be the world's longest tied-arch span for both rail and highway traffic. Epoxy asphalt is being used on bridges due to high temperatures. Longer self-anchored suspension bridges are becoming more common in China, with six already being built. TYLI is designing the Second Wujiang Bridge in Fulin. Around 20 new bridges are planned for the next decade in China.
