Bridge strengthened with CFRP strips increases load capacity to 300 kN.
The researchers tested a repaired five-span concrete bridge in Poland to see if it could handle heavier loads. They reinforced the bridge beams with special tapes and added a new concrete deck layer. The goal was to make the bridge strong enough to support 300 kN according to Polish standards. After conducting field load tests, they found that the repairs were successful in increasing the bridge's load capacity. This study provides valuable insights for future bridge maintenance projects.
