New study reveals diverse marine life around Youngjong Island, Korea!
A study was done to look at the animals living in the soft-bottom areas around Youngjong Island in Korea. They found 266 different species, with worms being the most common. The worms were also the most abundant and had the most species. Other animals like crabs and snails were also found. The study area was divided into three regions based on the types of animals living there. The areas with more mud had different animals than the areas with more sand. The animals living there seemed to be influenced by the type of sediment and how long they were exposed to the tides.
