Increasing nitrogen levels in rice boosts yield and quality, changing farming game.
The study looked at how different amounts and ratios of nitrogen fertilizer affected the growth and quality of broadcasted rice grown without tilling the soil. They found that more nitrogen led to higher rice yields and better quality, but also reduced the efficiency of nitrogen use by the plants. A specific ratio of nitrogen (7:0:3 or 4:3:3) resulted in the best efficiency and quality of the rice compared to other ratios tested.
