Climate change devastates coastal communities in Tanzania, forcing drastic livelihood changes.
Climate change is affecting the livelihoods of coastal communities in Tanzania. The study focused on how climate change impacts these communities' ways of making a living. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and discussions. Results show that rainfall is decreasing while temperatures are increasing, harming agriculture, the main source of income. This has led to food shortages, water stress, and less savings. Many people are adapting by growing drought-resistant crops, doing small business, and moving to areas with more rain. To help these communities, the government and others need to create new ways for them to make a living that can handle climate change.
