Variation in Rice Yield Components Reveals Key to High Yields.
The study looked at different types of high-quality rice in Panxi region to see how their yield components vary. They found that Indica rice has the most variation in the number of grains per panicle, while Japonica rice has the most variation in the number of panicles. The weight of grains in both types of rice had the least variation. Indica rice had more variation in filled grain percentage compared to Japonica rice. The key to high yields for hybrid Indica rice is having more grains per panicle, while for Japonica rice, it's about having more panicles.
