EU countries implement common immigration policies to promote integration and combat trafficking.
The European Union is working on a common immigration policy to help legal immigration benefit its development and combat illegal immigration. Researchers analyzed data from 2010 to identify common patterns in immigration policies among EU countries. They used a method called latent class analysis to group countries based on their policies in areas like labor market access, family reunion, education, and more. The study builds on previous work from 2007 and includes more countries like Romania. The results show different integration regimes in Europe and how education policies for immigrants connect with other areas like citizenship and anti-discrimination.
