New Study Reveals Effective Chemical Control of Troublesome Aquatic Weeds
Aquatic weeds in irrigation and drainage canals along Dongjin river in Korea were studied. The main troublesome weeds were Leersia japonica, Ceratophyllum demersum, and Zijania latifolia. Chemical control methods were tested, with paraquat, glyphosate, and fluridone effectively controlling these weeds. Leersia japonica was best controlled by paraquat, Zijania latifolia by paraquat and glyphosate, and Ceratophyllum demersum and Potamogeton crispus by 2,4,5-TP and fluridone.
