Soil Colloids Influence Urease Enzyme Activity and Thermal Stability.
The experiment looked at how different types of soil affect the urease enzyme, which helps transform nitrogen in soil. They studied soil colloids from red soil, latosol, and yellow brown soil in central-south China. The enzyme stuck more to yellow brown soil, but was more active on red soil and latosol. Enzyme attached to soil was more stable against heat than free enzyme.
