New model identifies cost-effective wastewater treatment options for cleaner water.
A model was created to help find the best ways to treat and manage wastewater. It looks at how much oxygen is in the water, how nitrogen and water are balanced on land, and estimates costs. The goal is to find cost-effective ways to treat wastewater that meet regulations. The model was used to evaluate options for a city with 10 million gallons of wastewater per day.
