Groundwater pumping near K-1 oil stockpile could impact stability.
The study looked at how geological structures affect groundwater around an oil stockpile. They found that fractures and faults in the rock can guide water flow. Groundwater levels at the site change with rainfall and pumping. Pumping from nearby wells can impact groundwater levels, but only if done at high rates. Pumping from wells 1.2 km away doesn't affect the site, but high pumping rates nearby could.
