Organic manures boost crop quality and soil health for sustainable farming.
A study looked at how different types of organic manure affect the quality of soybean, wheat, and chickpea crops, as well as the health of the soil. They found that using cattledung manure improved the protein and amino acid content of soybeans. Chickpea yields were highest when cattledung manure and vermicompost were combined. Wheat had the highest protein and mineral content when cattledung manure and poultry manure were used together. Combining cattledung manure with poultry manure or vermicompost increased soil organic carbon and microbial activity.
