Kumho River Identified as Main Pollutant Source in Nakdong River
The water quality in Nakdong River districts was studied from 1995 to 1997. The pH levels in some areas were too high for agriculture. BOD levels were above the standard after mixing with Kumho River, especially in Gangchang area. COD levels were also high, increasing downstream. T-N and T-P levels were above agricultural standards in certain areas. Overall, pollution from Kumho River was a major issue, with nutrient levels increasing each year.
