Optimal conditions for rearing giant prawns boost aquaculture success rates!
Understanding the best conditions for raising giant freshwater prawn post larvae is crucial for successful aquaculture. In this study, researchers tested different stocking densities and the presence of substrate and coloring to see how they affected prawn growth and survival. They found that a stocking density of 60 post larvae per tank with substrate led to the best growth and survival rates. Additionally, using coloring can increase survival rates during transportation, but it doesn't improve growth during long-term rearing. Overall, maintaining substrate and coloring can create optimal conditions for raising giant freshwater prawns.
