Preloaded Composite Plates Revolutionize Impact Resistance, Transforming Structural Safety.
Researchers studied how adding pressure in two directions affects how well a type of composite plate can withstand low-speed impacts. They tested three different types of pressure on plates made of E-glass and epoxy. The plates were analyzed using a computer program to predict how they would break under pressure. The computer predictions matched well with the actual test results. The study shows that adding pressure in different ways can change how well the plates resist impacts.
