Wastewater Reuse in Jordan Could Solve Water Crisis by 50%
Reclaimed wastewater is important for Jordan's limited water resources. By the year 2000, wastewater effluents could fill half of the water deficit. This is about 23% of the total groundwater capacity. Different treatment plants produce wastewater with varying quality. It is suggested to review laws and institutions to promote treated effluent reuse. A new strategy is recommended to ensure sustainable and environmentally friendly wastewater reuse projects.
