Central New Mexico Takes Bold Steps to Combat Climate Change
The Central New Mexico Climate Change Scenario Planning Project aimed to create a strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preparing for climate change impacts in the Albuquerque region. They used scenario planning to develop a transportation and land use-focused plan involving multiple agencies. The project outcomes supported long-range transportation planning and other related efforts. The Federal Highway Administration led the project, with support from the Bureau of Land Management, Fish & Wildlife Service, and National Park Service.
