Sowing Bajra in April Boosts Fodder Quality and Yield Significantly
Sowing bajra on different dates and cutting it at different times affects the quality of the fodder produced. The local Ardi variety had higher TDN yield and fewer leaves per plant compared to the synthetic UUJ variety. Sowing on 22 April resulted in the highest TDN yield and number of leaves per plant. As the plant was cut more times, the fiber and protein content increased, while the total digestible nutrients, fat, ash, and phosphorus content decreased.
