Pond plants Eichhornia crassipes and Salvinia natans clean up polluted water!
The study looked at how three types of plants, Eichhornia crassipes, Salvinia natans, and Alternanthrra philoxeroides, grow in polluted water and absorb nitrogen and phosphorus. Eichhornia crassipes performed the best, with the highest biomass and strongest absorption of nutrients, followed by Salvinia natans and Alternanthrra philoxeroides.
