Stormwater Runoff Transformed into Sustainable Water Source for Drought-Stricken Regions
Storm-water runoff from urban areas contains pollutants similar to wastewater and industrial discharges. EPA is regulating this runoff to protect the environment. One solution is using "best management practices" to treat runoff as a resource, recharge groundwater, and reduce the need for expensive treatment plants. This approach is being implemented in a large university campus project in Saudi Arabia.
