Land use changes in the Bernam watershed in Malaysia have led to increased runoff and sedimentation, affecting rainfall-runoff and runoff-sediment relationships. Comparing the 1980s and 1990s, it was found that the land-use changes caused more runoff and sediment in the latter period. This suggests that stricter control measures are needed in watershed development plans to reduce flooding and sedimentation due to land-use changes.
