Massive Knoxville Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade to Improve Water Quality.
The Knoxville Sewage Treatment Plant project involved building a system to collect and treat sewage and industrial waste from 38 outlets. This included laying down over 7 miles of sewer pipes of various sizes, constructing force mains, crossing creeks and reservoirs, and setting up pumping stations. The intercepting sewer at the main treatment plant can handle up to 125 million gallons of sewage per day.
