Revolutionizing Crop Yields: Integrated Nutrient Management Boosts Rice-Wheat Stability.
A study on rice-wheat cropping system found that using a mix of nutrients like NPk, crop residues, and manure can stabilize yields of both crops. Different nutrient combinations were tested at various locations, showing varying effects on crop yields and soil health. For example, using green manure in rice and NPK in wheat worked well in one place, while using farmyard manure in rice and NPK in wheat was better in another. Overall, the integrated nutrient management improved soil organic carbon levels and availability of phosphorus and potassium in most locations, except for a decrease in phosphorus in one place. This approach can help farmers maintain stable yields and improve soil health in rice-wheat cropping systems.
