Maize and greengram intercropping boosts yields and profits in Eastern Himalayas.
A study in Nagaland looked at growing maize and greengram together in the Eastern Himalayan Region. They found that growing maize and greengram separately gave higher yields than growing them together. However, when grown together, the overall yield was still good. The best ratio for growing them together was 1:1 or 1:2. This method also gave higher profits compared to growing them alone. The researchers also found that planting them in rows with a 1:1 ratio was the most efficient in terms of energy.
