The article discusses a new way of planning cities to make them better able to handle different kinds of threats. It looks at two main aspects of city resilience: ecological resilience and engineering resilience. The author suggests that planning for resilient cities and making urban planning more resilient are both important. The paper recommends improving urban planning ideas and methods, doing more research on cities as systems, and working together across different fields to make cities more resilient.
