New plant associations discovered in western Bulgaria reveal ecological diversity.
Researchers in western Bulgaria studied different plant communities in the Festuco-Brometea alliance. They identified new plant associations based on soil characteristics and other factors like exposure and land use. The new associations, Hieracio pilosellae-Festucetum dalmaticae and Galio lovcense-Artemisietum chamaemelifoliae, were distinct in terms of pH, humus content, and ecological features.
