New approach simplifies merging data for seamless information access.
Schema integration is the process of combining different data structures into one unified view. A new approach using logical schema mappings has been developed to merge schemas more efficiently. By using tuple-generating dependencies and equality-generating dependencies, the researchers were able to create minimal mediated schemas with the same data access capabilities as the original schemas. The approach was tested on real and synthetic data sets, showing that it is both practical and scalable for use in various scenarios.
